Artist Guidelines

Send us visual work that answers back.

We’re looking for art inspired by stories published on Imperfect Idea. Not simple illustration, not homework, not a diagram of the plot. We’re after response, mood, tension, afterimage.

What We’re Looking For

• visual work inspired by a story on the site
• original interpretation
• emotional resonance
• atmosphere
• work that deepens, disturbs, or transforms what the story leaves behind
• pieces that respond rather than simply explain

We welcome painting, drawing, collage, digital art, photography, mixed media, and other visual forms.

Selected pieces may be featured alongside the story that inspired them, with full credit to the artist.

• the story it responds to
• your name
• a short bio, if you have one

You keep the rights to your work. We ask only for permission to publish it on Imperfect Idea if selected.
